A Prayer for Mothers

Motherhood

Spread the love

“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer.” Psalm 19:14

I read this verse a few mornings ago in my morning time and I quickly worked to memorize it and have been reciting it often ever since.

What a beautiful prayer. Especially for mothers. Let our words and our thoughts be pleasing to the Lord.

How often do we grumble when our children need something after we just sat down? Or use a less than patient tone? I know I’m guilty of both of those things (and so much more) every day.

But what if we prayed to the Lord every day— or multiple times each day- that our words and our thoughts would be acceptable to Him? How much more loving would we speak to our families? How much more patient would we be?

I don’t know, but I intend to find out! Will you join me in praying for words and thoughts that will bless our families and please the Lord?
